Even before my first trip to Africa last year, I started hearing those dreaded words: "You really should start a blog."
My response?
A full-body shudder followed by an emphatic, "No, no, no...no way!"
Blogging just wasn't for me, for many reasons. First of all, it kind of seems like work. Sure, I write in a journal, but the whole purpose of that is to express all those things you aren't willing to tell other people. And I write for my job, which I enjoy, but it's still work. Besides, it took 10 years of emailing to get to the point where I don't labor over wording, punctuation and tone for even the most benign piece of communication. In other words, blogging sounded like something that would take f-o-r-e-v-e-r for me to do.
But things change...people change. I certainly have changed. And now my life is about to change in a very big way. And somehow those changes seem worth writing about.
But I can't tell everything in my very first post! More on those changes and how they came to be in future posts.
Thanks for taking this journey with me...!
